The Grand Opening of
WE’LL SELL IT on
eBay’s
West Hollywood Location
March 21, 2005
Beverly Hills, Ca (March 15, 2005) - WE’LL SELL IT, Inc., one of the
country’s
fastest growing eBay drop off chains and the first company to launch an upscale
eBay drop-off store in Beverly Hills, California has announced that it has
signed a deal with AuctionWagon, Inc. to license their Store Manager G2 software
for use in all of their WE’LL SELL IT locations. AuctionWagon,
Inc. is
the industry’s leading software provider. Simultaneously, WE’LL SELL IT will purchase Auction Wagon, Inc.’s original eBay drop-off store
in West Hollywood, California.
WE’LL SELL IT’s Bernard Valenzuela
notes, “Our relationship
with AuctionWagon, Inc. empowers our franchisees with tools that no other
eBay outlet has. Licensing the Store Manager G2 platform demonstrates
our commitment to making the We’ll Sell It stores the most advanced
and efficient anywhere. And at the same time, with this software, we’re
combating Internet Auction Fraud.”
Complaints from Internet Auctions
are the #1 fraud complaint to Federal Trade Commission with the median
loss for victims of Internet-related fraud valued at $195.
Identity
theft and Internet Auction Fraud are the top two complaints filed in the
Consumer Sentinel database, a central database that collects complaints from
more than 50 law enforcement and private sector partners. Leading data contributors
include the National Fraud Information Center, Canada's Phonebusters, the Internet
Fraud Complaint Center, and numerous local Better Business Bureaus.
Jon Cherkas,
a WE’LL SELL IT, Beverly Hills customer has been
a recent victim of internet fraud and identity theft. Cherkas noted, “I
applaud We’ll Sell It’s aggressive approach and stance
against internet fraud. I know that in my case, their efforts would
have saved me thousands of dollars and days of headache, not to
mention the damage inflicted to my credit report.”
As a result
of rapidly increasing identity theft and iternet fraud activity,
Individuals are becoming increasingly cautious about releasing
information on the internet. Cherkas, whose identity was stolen
and used for an online purchasing scam, is a typical victim of
an eBay "phishing" scam. Cherkas said, "I
received a message from eBay saying that my account would be suspended
if I didn't verify it."
In fact, Cherkas was redirected to a website
which, identical-looking to eBay, was able to collect his credit
card information, among other personal information. He added, "I
discovered that Phishing scams are now common, as scam artists
are becoming ever more advanced technically." Now, We'll Sell It
drop-off stores are able to insulate their sellers from this by
picking up on the subtleties of even the best scams.
AuctionWagon's
system can help with fraud. AuctionWagaon Inc.’s
Joshua MacAdam said, “Working with
our G2 platform customers, we are able to build a fraud alert-list.
eBay stores who have discovered malicious buyers and sellers are
able to submit them to a shared list. Once someone is on this list,
future transactions will be flagged for special consideration,
or even automatically disallowed. This functionality works in conjunction
with the eBay feedback system to build an excellent picture of
who potential buyers and sellers really are. Drop-off stores are
able to minimize their losses, while making the eBay experience
safe and simple for everyone.” MacAdam
added, “WE’LL SELL IT has
come on strong since the very beginning. Their first UPSCALE location
concept surpassed all expectations. In this business, efficiency
is the name of the game, and there are few eBay stores in the country
doing as much business per square foot as We’ll Sell It. And working with We’ll
Sell Its’ industry-leading management team has greatly enhanced
our Store Manager G2 system.”
WE’LL SELL IT, Inc.,
the chain of eBay drop-off stores that opened the FIRST UPSCALE
Beverly Hills, CA based store catering specifically to a high end
clientele, also announced it will begin franchising its outlets
nationally.
WE’LL SELL IT on eBay opened its first store
on September 29, 2004 in Beverly Hills, California. Since that
time, We’ll
Sell It has exceeded all projections and has been seen on ABC,
CBS, FOX and CNN Worldwide News.
In November, 2004 We’ll
Sell It retained Francorp, the worldwide leader in franchise development
and consulting (Blockbuster Video, Discovery Zone, and thousands
of others) to develop a franchise strategy and offering.
Don Boroian,
the Chairman of the Board at Francorp – the
largest franchise company in the world noted, “We are so
excited about WE’LL SELL IT,
Inc. that we have taken a special interest in this project.
This company should hit a home run. There are numerous eBay drop-off
stores popping up around the country, however this company has
a unique formula they created and proprietary software that sets
them apart from the rest. This is a company to watch for 2005.” Francorp
has been working on the offering and it should become available
to the public, sometime in April, 2005. The Grand Opening for the
new West Hollywood location is set for March 21, 2005.
